Job summary

Portland General Electric in Oregon seeks a Manager, Plant Operations to lead and develop a team responsible for the safe, reliable operation of power generation assets. You will manage day-to-day plant activities, ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards, and drive performance.

Ideal candidate has a bachelor’s in engineering and 8+ years in power plant ops with at least 2 years of management, plus knowledge of regulatory requirements and emergency planning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical discipline.
• Eight or more years in power plant operations, maintenance, engineering and related support activities.
• Two years of management/supervisory experience preferred; bargaining staff management experience is a plus.
• Experience with Combined Cycle Power Plant operations desired.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of a power generation plant safely, reliably and economically.
• Lead a team of plant operations staff and provide technical guidance.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards and procedures.
• Oversee emergency planning, response and staff training.
• Monitor expenditures and enforce financial controls within plan.
