Job summary

Aecon Concessions seeks a Project Site Commissioning Manager to plan, direct, and safely execute pre-commissioning through operational readiness for power generation facilities, including CCGT, simple cycle, reciprocating engine, renewable, and conventional thermal generation.

The role interfaces with Engineering, Construction, Operations, Owners, Vendors, and OEMs to ensure systems are tested, validated, and transferred safely and efficiently from construction completion through commercial

Qualifications

• 10-15+ years in power generation, industrial commissioning, startup, construction, or operations.
• 5+ years in a leadership role managing commissioning on large EPC projects.
• Experience with CCGT, simple cycle, reciprocating engine, or thermal generation facilities.
• Demonstrated experience turning over systems to operations and achieving commercial readiness.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for commissioning and startup matters.
• Develop and implement the Project Commissioning and Startup Plan.
• Establish procedures, schedules, and turnover strategies.
• Coordinate pre-commissioning, commissioning, startup, and performance testing.
• Lead and manage commissioning engineers, startup specialists, operators, and advisory staff.
• Ensure staffing, training, and resources for commissioning phases.
• Maintain commissioning safety performance and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate OEM field service representatives and vendor technical advisors.
• Interface with clients and plant operations personnel.
• Prepare regular commissioning reports, schedules, and readiness assessments.
