JOB TITLE: Construction Manager

LOCATION: King, TX

SCHEDULE: Standard Office Hours

DURATION: 12-Month Contract

PAY RATE: $47-52/hr

Job Overview

The Construction/Commissioning Supervisor will coordinate, manage, and oversee construction and commissioning activities at the project site. This role ensures contractors and project teams meet design requirements, quality standards, safety protocols, and schedule commitments. The supervisor will act as a key liaison between field operations and project leadership, providing guidance, leadership, and performance oversight to construction supervisors and crews.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage construction work performed by contractors and vendors on‑site.
  • Assess productivity, schedule compliance, work quality, and safety performance.
  • Conduct walk‑downs of planned work, validate completed work against design requirements, approve contractor payment requests, verify constructability, and allocate resources appropriately.
  • Maintain scope control, oversee budgets, report on performance, manage schedules, and monitor work in progress.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to Construction Supervisors and supplemental workforce, communicating departmental, station, and division goals.
  • Serve as a critical bridge between field operations and project leadership to ensure alignment of construction crews and stakeholders.
  • Address logistical challenges, resolve conflicts, and ensure construction activities remain on track.
  • Survey and observe contractor Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) practices; provide coaching, direction, and corrective action as needed.
  • Lead commissioning projects, ensuring regulatory and safety compliance.
  • Coordinate with engineering and construction teams to implement commissioning plans.
  • Oversee system testing, troubleshooting, and quality assurance.
  • Manage contractor performance and ensure adherence to project timelines.
  • Resolve operational issues arising during commissioning phases.
  • Apply engineering principles related to power plant commissioning.
Qualifications
  • Education: Associate degree or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Power Generation, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 6‑10 years of experience in power plant commissioning, working with EPC contractors, engineering firms, and equipment suppliers.
  • Strong understanding of engineering principles related to construction and commissioning in power generation.
  • Proven experience managing teams, schedules, and contractors on complex projects.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
