Job summary

Karman is an AI company enabling AI data centers to dynamically orchestrate power and unlock more compute capacity. The Power Applications team turns orchestration algorithms from idea to production, measuring impact on electrical limits, compute throughput, and reliability.

This senior role focuses on designing and delivering fast, robust control/estimation algorithms with production-grade code and experiments in our lab and production environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a quantitative field.
• Deep expertise in control systems and optimization for real-time settings.
• Experience taking algorithms from concept to production in physical systems.
• Strong Python for prototyping; production Rust code experience forthcoming.
• Comfort with continuous integration, tests, and field data to improve algorithms.
• Excellent written communication and remote-work habits.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% of time.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and deliver improvements to power-allocate control/ orchestration algorithms across servers with high speed and reliability.
• Own end-to-end algorithms: theory/prototyping (Python), production (Rust/Python), validation and field tuning.
• Define metrics for algorithm performance and build benchmark/regression suites to meet goals.
• Improve robustness and operability of production services driven by algorithms.
• Drive R&D on forecasting, automated tuning, large-scale orchestration, and new hardware; run experiments and translate results into decisions.
