Job summary

TotalEnergies seeks a Senior Quantitative Analyst (Contract) to develop insights on U.S. power markets, starting with ERCOT and PJM. The role supports investment decisions, portfolio optimization and strategy, reporting to senior leadership with visibility across TotalEnergies’ Flexible Power & Integration unit.

Based at Houston, TX or Berkeley, CA, you will collaborate with market analysis, trading, and regulatory teams to deliver decision-ready analyses and robust market forecasts.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master's degree in economics, finance, engineering, or a related field.
• 5-10 years of experience in power market analysis or a similar analytical role within the energy sector.
• In-depth knowledge of asset and portfolio modeling, including risk analysis, optimization and pricing.
• Knowledge of US Power Markets is a plus.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills for senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-impact market insights to inform investment decisions, asset optimization and portfolio management.
• Analyze supply-demand dynamics, price trends, regulatory changes and technology impacts in designated power markets.
• Collect and organize data from market reports, databases and internal systems; ensure data accuracy.
• Develop and apply models and algorithms to forecast power market conditions, load, and capacity needs.
• Stay informed on industry trends and participate in conferences and regulatory forums.
