Job summary

1898 & Co. is seeking a Senior Consultant focused on electric power markets to advance IRP, market studies, and resource planning for clients across North America.

You will lead technical analyses, evaluate portfolios, and deliver high-quality economic and regulatory evaluations to inform decision making. The role requires leadership in modeling, strong domain knowledge of market regions (PJM, MISO, CAISO, NYISO, ERCOT, WECC), and collaboration with Burns & McDonnell teams.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree with 7+ years in electric power planning or consulting.
• Experience leading IRP and power supply studies using PROMOD/PLEXOS.
• Strong knowledge of market structures (PJM, MISO, CAISO, SERC, ERCOT, NYISO).

Responsibilities

• Lead studies in power markets, IRP, and resource planning engagements.
• Evaluate utility power portfolios including renewables and storage.
• Perform production cost and capacity expansion analyses.
• Develop client-ready technical memos and presentations.
• Support business development and client meetings.
