Job summary

Baringa is seeking an experienced Consultant to Senior Consultant to join our Energy Products team in North America. You will develop power market models, produce data-driven outlooks, and present findings to clients across developers, utilities, lenders, and investors.

You will lead modeling workstreams, build scalable workflows, and collaborate with leadership to define analytical approaches and client-ready deliverables. Remote options may be considered for exceptional profiles.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of experience in power market modeling, production cost modeling, or related energy analytics.
• Strong knowledge of wholesale power markets and fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience with production cost modeling tools (PLEXOS, PROMOD, AURORA, GridView).
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, Excel, and large-scale data analysis.
• Ability to communicate complex results to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain North American power market outlooks with data-driven insights.
• Lead modeling workstreams, including scenario design and QA/QC.
• Translate client needs into actionable workplans with leadership.
• Build and automate datasets, workflows, and diagnostics.
• Analyze market fundamentals and policy impacts for investment decisions.
• Convert modeling outputs into client-ready presentations and reports.
• Present findings to clients and senior stakeholders.
• Contribute to broader Energy Products offerings and tools.
