Optimus - People. Solutions. Delivered. seeks a Senior Market Compliance Analyst (Power) to oversee compliance for power trading across organized and bilateral markets, including virtuals, FTRs, congestion, and renewables.

You will work with Trading, Risk, Operations, Legal, and senior management to monitor activity, interpret market rules, investigate issues, and provide practical, risk-based guidance while helping shape governance and regulatory-readiness initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Business, Energy Management, Law, or related field.
5–8+ years of relevant experience in energy trading compliance, market surveillance, regulatory affairs, market monitoring, risk, or regulatory advisory.

Responsibilities

Conduct surveillance of physical and financial power trading, including virtual transactions, FTRs, congestion, capacity, renewable products, and bilateral transactions.
Monitor activity across North American power markets for market-conduct, tariff, and regulatory risks.
Review trading positions, transactions, market concentration, and data.
Investigate alerts, unusual trading patterns, potential market abuse, tariff violations, and regulatory concerns; engage with traders and elevate issues as appropriate.
Develop and enhance surveillance reports, dashboards, analytics, and automated monitoring tools.
Advise traders, originators, schedulers, marketers, and commercial teams on market rules and regulatory requirements.
Conduct compliance risk assessments and recommend controls for trading strategies and new activities.
Monitor developments from FERC, CFTC, ISOs/RTOs, MMUs, NERC, and assess impact on trading activities.
Maintain and enhance compliance policies, governance documentation, and trading controls.
Support regulatory inquiries, audits, investigations, and data requests.
Conduct communications surveillance and support regulatory-readiness initiatives.
Participate in new-product/market-expansion/technology initiatives to ensure compliance controls.
