Job summary

Renesas Electronics seeks a senior Power Applications Engineer to contribute to cutting-edge digital power management solutions in a high‑caliber team. You will translate market needs into product definitions and collaborate across functions to drive adoption and commercial success.

The role requires 10+ years in power management, expertise with multiphase DC/DC converters, embedded SOC platforms, and strong lab/testing capabilities to validate designs and deliver IP and customer value.

Qualifications

• Must have an MS in Engineering or technical equivalent.
• Minimum of 10 years experience in the power management industry.
• Experience with firmware-enabled products and powering large scale application-specific ICs in data center market.
• Experience with multiphase DC/DC converters powering Intel/AMD/SoC systems.
• Knowledge of mixed-signal ICs and control loop theory.
• Experience with digitally enabled power management products.
• Proficiency with lab equipment including oscilloscopes, network analyzers, waveform generators.
• Experience with automation of lab testing.

Responsibilities

• Translate market understanding to product definition and market adoption.
• Support technical marketing through global customer visits to promote products and uncover customer needs.
• Produce detailed Product Requirements Documents to support design specifications.
• Work with design engineering to align requirements with capabilities and business expectations.
• Participate in FPGA-based design prototyping to verify key features.
• Guide staff in creating Applications Validation Plans to cover corner cases.
• Develop valuable IP by finding unique solutions to customer problems.
• Interface with ASIC suppliers to ensure alignment in product development.
• Provide deep technical support and training to advance Renesas’s commercial success.
