Job summary

Lumbee River EMC is seeking a skilled 1st Class Power Line Technician to install, repair, and maintain overhead and underground distribution systems. This senior role advances from Apprentice Lineman to Journeyman Lineman and demands comprehensive Journeyman duties knowledge and strict safety practices.

The position involves extensive fieldwork on energized and de-energized circuits, equipment installation, inspections, and outage response, with mentorship to apprentices and adherence to OSHA

Qualifications

• Requires strong problem solving, analytical and organizational skills.
• Able to follow construction standards and read wiring diagrams.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and OSHA regulations.
• Ability to work in varied weather and at heights.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain overhead and underground power lines.
• Perform line work on energized or de-energized circuits safely.
• Inspect lines and equipment and report deficiencies.
• Assist in pole setting, digging and guying as needed.
• Respond to outages and restore power during emergencies.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

Associate's degree Electrical Line Construction

Journeyman Lineman Certification (preferred)
