Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Houston seeks a System Engineer - Power Generation to lead the core engine definition and documentation for complete scope of supply on electric power and oil & gas projects.

You will coordinate engineering drawings, presales support, and ensure designs meet contractual requirements while collaborating with regional teams on cost-effective solutions for data centers, utilities, and power plants.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree with minimum 10 years of industry experience in electric power and oil & gas systems.
• Experience with engine and ancillary system designs and applications.
• Extensive knowledge of electric power and O&G medium speed engines.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical system definition and calculation by 2D schematic drawings for engine and I&C design.
• Provide technical support to ensure equipment meets all design and interface requirements.
• Collaborate with engineering managers to align regional engineering approaches and standards.
• Promote cost-effective designs and reuse of common engineering solutions.
• Ensure complete technical specifications for goods are in place.
• Coordinate pre-sales and order execution activities for Caterpillar gas engine projects.
