NiSource is seeking a Manager Operations – Generation to lead the daily operations and maintenance of power generation facilities, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance, and reliable production in support of business objectives.

You will supervise operations staff across shifts, develop strategies, manage budgets, and coordinate with maintenance, planning, and engineering to optimize performance and respond to emergencies.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in heavy industry, electric generation, or related field with track record of improving processes.
• 3+ years leading a team in heavy industry.
• Willingness to support 24/7 operations, including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting, and interpretation of financial documents.
• Experience with coordinating and leading cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Responsabilités

• Lead safe, reliable day-to-day operation of power generation facilities and equipment.
• Develop and implement operating strategies, policies, and process improvements.
• Direct operations personnel across shifts, manage staffing, overtime, and timekeeping.
• Recruit, train, coach, and evaluate O&M personnel.
• Promote a strong safety culture and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with maintenance, planning, engineering, dispatch, and partners.
• Monitor plant performance, investigate gaps, and implement corrective actions.
• Develop and manage operating budgets and forecast expenses.
• Identify risks, communicate updates, and prepare senior leadership reports.
• Support labor relations and participate in grievance processes.
• Use Maximo and SAP for work orders and reporting.
• Lead during off-shifts, outages, and emergencies; assist with recovery.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
