Job summary

ExxonMobil is hiring a Sr. Financial Power Trader for its Americas Gas & Power Trading team. You will manage a point-of-view power book across key North American ISOs, trading curves, spreads, heat rates, and congestion with fundamental insight and cross-commodity awareness.

You will partner with analytics, gas traders, and risk teams to scale the program, drive risk-adjusted returns, and mentor junior talent while operating in a senior, autonomous capacity.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of financial power trading experience with direct P&L and a proven track record.
• Deep grounding in North American power markets: generation stack dynamics, load, weather drivers and ISO market design.
• Experience building and interpreting forward fixed price, heat rate and basis curves, with risk controls.

Responsibilities

• Run a point of view driven financial power book across ERCOT, MISO South Region, and PJM.
• Develop trading strategies capturing gas-power linkages using Exxon’s platform and positions.
• Collaborate with Analytics to build models for generation stack, renewable penetration, and congestion analytics.
• Manage risk across vol, spread, basis and directional exposures with disciplined sizing.
• Partner with gas traders, market analytics, origination, and risk teams to reflect full information set in the book.
• Contribute to build-out of power trading capability as the platform scales.
