Job summary

Davis H. Elliot Company, Inc. is seeking a Lead Power Engineer to design and supervise electric power distribution projects from 480V to 345 kV.

You will draft one-line diagrams, specify equipment, and manage grounding and protection systems while coordinating with other engineers and drafters on multiple projects. The role requires strong technical expertise in power systems, code knowledge (ANSI, IEEE, NEC, NEMA, NESC), and leadership skills to mentor junior staff and ensure quality,

Qualifications

B.S. in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
4+ years of progressive electrical distribution design experience.
Experience with one-line diagrams, grounding, and protection systems.
Strong verbal and written communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

Provide detailed physical design of electric distribution systems to include one-line diagrams, equipment specs, grounding, and layout.
Act as project engineer for multiple projects and lead engineers and drafters.
Perform design and equipment specification functions for distribution projects from 480V to 345 kV.
Specify, review, inspect, and approve electrical equipment for power systems.
Review and maintain oversight of physical design, bus design, equipment ratings and clearances.
Perform calculations to support designs: short circuit, voltage drop, thermal ratings, etc.
