Job summary

Lucid Motors seeks a Sr. Engineer for the Power Electronics Test & Validation team in California. You will own validation strategy for power electronics, drive DVP&Rs from requirements through production, and architect scalable test setups across programs.

The role requires leading R&D and design-improvement activities, mentoring junior engineers, and coordinating with design, reliability, quality, and manufacturing teams. A strong HV safety background is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical, Mechanical, Power Electronics, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in power electronics development, test, and validation.
• Demonstrated ownership of DVP&Rs and requirements-based validation programs through production launch.
• Experience defining and standing up system-level test setups and lab capability from the ground up.
• Hands-on expertise with lab equipment (battery simulators, power supplies, E-loads, oscilloscopes, current probes, power analyzers, hi-pot testers, thermal/environmental chambers, DAQ systems).
• Knowledge of automotive and industrial environmental reliability requirements (GMW, ISO, IEC) and their application to test plans.
• High voltage safety knowledge and ability to establish safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Own and drive verification and validation strategy for power electronics products from concept through production release.
• Author and drive DVP&Rs: derive test cases, define criteria, negotiate scope, drive plans to closure.
• Architect system-level test setups and validation architectures including HV/LV interfaces and data acquisition.
• Review schematics and define test cell layouts for instrumentation and HV circuitry.
• Define and oversee design of test benches, jigs, and DAQ systems; set measurement accuracy requirements.
• Lead root-cause analysis of complex failures and drive corrective action with teams.
• Establish test methods, procedures, and best practices; standardize automation and data pipelines.
