Job summary

LiquidPiston is seeking a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to grow its Electrical Engineering team in Connecticut. The role focuses on designing, prototyping, and validating power electronics for advanced engine and generator systems.

You will work across hardware and software disciplines, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive hardware qualification with external vendors in a fast-paced, small-company environment.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience designing and developing power electronics hardware.
• Experience with converters, inverters, motor drives or high-current/high-voltage systems.
• Understanding of thermal management, EMI/EMC, reliability and manufacturability.

Responsibilities

• Design, simulate, prototype, debug, and improve power electronics hardware for engine and generator systems.
• Develop and support converters, inverters, motor drives, power distribution, battery interfaces.
• Perform hands-on hardware bring-up, troubleshooting, validation, and root-cause analysis of electrical and thermal failures.
• Address EMI/EMC issues, manufacturability concerns, and reliability improvements.
