Job summary

LITEON Careers - U.S. is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design and develop high-power power electronics hardware. You will bridge hardware with firmware and software, ensuring reliable operation and performance in server/storage applications.

The role requires collaboration with firmware, software, and mechanical teams, and includes design verification, lab validation, and documentation responsibilities. A strong background in high-voltage systems and hands-on testing is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in high-power hardware design.
  • Strong knowledge of power electronics and high-voltage systems.
  • Experience with PCB design, schematic capture, and hardware validation.
  • Familiarity with interfaces supporting firmware and software integration.
  • Hands-on lab experience with debugging, validation, and failure analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop power electronics circuits for high-power products and modules (AC-DC/DC-DC, control circuits, protection).
  • Support high-voltage/high-current designs ensuring performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with firmware/software teams to define hardware interfaces and support system integration.
  • Work with mechanical teams on rack enclosure, thermal, and liquid cooling solutions.
  • Lead or support schematic design, PCB layout reviews, and design verification.
  • Perform hardware bring-up, debugging, and validation using lab equipment.
  • Assist with hardware testing for EMI/EMC, reliability, and environmental tests.
  • Create and maintain hardware design documentation and test reports.
  • Stay current with power electronics trends and energy efficiency technologies.
