Job summary

TotalEnergies is seeking a Senior Power Distribution Reliability Engineer to support the Port Arthur Platform. You will lead efforts to maintain and improve the refinery's power distribution network, collaborating with Engineering, Capital, and Operations to deliver reliable electrical infrastructure.

You will leverage extensive knowledge of electrical standards, protective relaying, and motor control to ensure equipment reliability, safety, and performance across the platform.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of experience.
• Knowledge of ISA, ANSI, NEC, NESC, IEEE, OSHA 1910 standards.
• Experience in protective relaying.
• Design and troubleshoot electrical switchgear.
• Repair and control of induction and synchronous motors.
• Ability to lead, solve problems, and manage priorities.

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with Platform groups including Engineering, Businesses, Capital, and Turn Around.
• Oversee design, selection, configuration, maintenance, development, and implementation of lifecycle plans for power distribution systems at the refinery.
• Analyze existing systems and develop strategies to improve safety, reliability, efficiency and quality of power distribution systems.
• Troubleshoot power distribution system failures and prioritize repairs with Power Distribution Coordinator.
• Provide technical support for the power distribution system as required.

This role is based at the Port Arthur Platform within the Instrumentation and Electrical Engineering Department.

It is having extensive knowledge in power distribution and working with stakeholders to ensure that the power distribution systems are maintained and functioning optimally.

Activities

• Develop strong relationships with all groups within the Platform including Engineering, Businesses teams, Capital, and Turn Around.
• Oversee the design, selection, configuration, maintenance, development, and implementation of the life cycle plans for the power distribution systems at the refinery.
• Analyzing existing systems, developing strategies for improving safety, reliability, efficiency, and quality of the power distribution systems by performing benchmarking and gap closure analysis for the asset health.
• Troubleshoot the power distribution system failures and works with the Power Distribution Coordinator to ensure the repairs are prioritized and completed in a timely manner.
• Provide technical support for the power distribution system as required.

Candidate Profile

• BS in Electrical Engineering with a minimum 5+ years' experience.
• Knowledge and experience in ISA, ANSI, NEC, NESC, IEEE, and OSHA 1910 standards as they apply to electrical equipment and safe work practices.
• Experience in the application of protective relaying.
• Experience in the design and troubleshooting of electrical switchgear.
• Knowledge in the repair and control of both induction and synchronous motors.
• Experience in the use and interpretation of data collected with standard electrical test equipment.
• Ability to lead by example, logical problem-solving skills, works well in team environment, able to manage multiple/changing priorities.
