Job summary

Total Energies is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer for our Port Arthur Platform. You will lead I&E systems engineering, ensure power reliability, and guide the refinery on modern, cost-effective electrical solutions across new and retrofit projects.

You will engage with multiple disciplines, support maintenance teams, and provide technical leadership in protective relaying, switchgear design, and motor controls, including during turn-arounds and capital projects.

Qualifications

• BS Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in a petrochemical facility.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Knowledge of ISA, ANSI, NEC, NESC, IEEE, and OSHA 1910 standards as they apply to electrical equipment and safe work practices.
• Experience in the application of protective relaying.
• Experience in design and troubleshooting of electrical switchgear and controls for voltages from 480V to transmission voltages.
• Knowledge in repair and control of induction and synchronous motors.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the design, selection, configuration, maintenance and documentation for I&E systems at the refinery.
• Troubleshoot and repair I&E equipment and systems; train as needed.
• Provide I&E services for refinery capital and expense projects, including guidance on protective relays and schemes.
• Support I&E engineering during turn-around activities.
• Identify and eliminate inefficient instrument installations to reduce maintenance costs and improve safety.
• Develop and issue Management of Change documentation for OSHA PSM 29-CFR-1910.
