Job summary

TotalEnergies in Port Arthur, TX, seeks a Senior Power Distribution Reliability Engineer to join the Electrical Engineering Team at the Port Arthur Platform. You will lead improvements to the power distribution network, collaborate with stakeholders, and drive reliability initiatives to ensure safe and efficient operations.

The role emphasizes leadership, coordination, and execution with strong knowledge of protective relaying and switchgear, supporting both short- and long-term platform

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering with at least 5 years' experience.
• Knowledge of ISA, ANSI, NEC, NESC, IEEE, OSHA 1910 standards.
• Experience in protective relaying.
• Experience in design and troubleshooting of electrical switchgear.
• Knowledge of repair and control of induction and synchronous motors.
• Ability to lead by example and work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Develop relationships with Platform groups (Engineering, Businesses teams, Capital, and Turn Around).
• Oversee the design, selection, configuration, maintenance, development, and implementation of lifecycle plans for power distribution systems at the refinery.
• Analyze existing systems, develop strategies for improving safety, reliability, efficiency, and quality of power distribution systems by benchmarking and gap closure analysis.
• Troubleshoot power distribution system failures and work with Power Distribution Coordinator to prioritize and complete repairs.
• Provide technical support for the power distribution system as required.

• Develop strong relationships with all groups within the Platform including Engineering, Businesses teams, Capital, and Turn Around.

• Troubleshoot the power distribution system failures and works with the Power Distribution Coordinator to ensure the repairs are prioritized and completed in a timely manner.
• Provide technical support for the power distribution system as required.

Profil du candidat

• BS in Electrical Engineering with a minimum 5+ years’ experience.
• Knowledge and experience in ISA, ANSI, NEC, NESC, IEEE, and OSHA 1910 standards as they apply to electrical equipment and safe work practices.
• Experience in the application of protective relaying.
• Experience in the design and troubleshooting of electrical switchgear.
• Knowledge in the repair and control of both induction and synchronous motors.
• Experience in the use and interpretation of data collected with standard electrical test equipment.
• Ability to lead by example, logical problem-solving skills, works well in team environment, able to manage multiple/changing priorities.
