Job summary

Wesco seeks a Senior Specialist – Quotations in Houston to develop proposals and quotations for complex requests. You will work with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Legal, and product teams, ensuring complete, accurate, and timely responses while negotiating with suppliers and customers to optimize pricing and terms.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of bid-package experience, strong analytical and math skills, and a proven ability to read specifications and blueprints. Travel up to 25% is required.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or Equivalent required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• 5+ years of related experience.
• Experience pulling together full bid packages.
• Broad knowledge of product lines and pricing strategies.
• Experience negotiating with customers and supplier representatives for pricing and cooperation.
• Ability to read and interpret specifications and blueprints.
• Strong math and analytical skills; strong communication and organization skills; strong computer skills.
• Travel up to 25% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and qualifies potential projects for bid and compiles material requirements.
• Interacts with consultants representing customers to obtain bidding approvals.
• Negotiates pricing with suppliers and clarifies bill of materials for quotations.
• Supervises negotiations with suppliers and customers.
• Provides take-offs for quotations and coordinates information for final submittal.
• Communicates with customers to resolve problems during bidding.
• Follows up on open quotations with salespersons and customers.
• Collaborates with account representatives, executives, and inside sales to ensure quotes lead to orders.
• Identifies sales opportunities within the current customer base.
