Job summary

Wheeler Staffing Partners seeks an experienced Senior Distribution Planning Engineer in Boerne, TX for a direct-hire role with hybrid work and a $100,000–$140,000 salary. You will lead distribution system planning, perform load forecasting and arc-flash studies, and manage client-facing projects to ensure timely, compliant deliverables.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of planning experience, a Texas PE license, and proficiency with Milsoft or WindMil.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Active Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 5+ years of electrical distribution system planning experience.
• Proficiency with Milsoft or WindMil software.

Responsibilities

• Develop Two-Year Construction Work Plans and Long-Range Distribution System Plans.
• Perform load forecasting, device coordination, relay settings, and arc-flash studies.
• Prepare engineering reports, system maps, drawings, and improvement recommendations.
• Analyze distribution performance: voltage, peak loads, capacitor ops, substations.
• Support environmental reporting, regulatory submissions, and CCN applications.
• Develop service plans for developments, subdivisions and industrial customers.
• Prepare equipment specs and support HV equipment procurement.
• Manage projects: schedules, budgets, proposals, deliverables, quality control.
• Collaborate with utility clients, engineering teams, contractors, and field staff.
