Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking an experienced Senior Distribution Planning Engineer for a direct hire in Boerne, TX. This role supports electrical distribution planning, engineering studies, infrastructure improvements and project management within the power delivery sector.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of distribution planning experience, an active Texas PE license, and proficiency with Milsoft or WindMil software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Active Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 5+ years of electrical distribution system planning experience in energy or power delivery.

Responsibilities

• Develop Two-Year Construction Work Plans and Long-Range Distribution System Plans.
• Perform load forecasting, system sectionalizing, device coordination, relay settings, and arc-flash studies.
• Prepare engineering reports, system maps, technical drawings, and infrastructure improvement recommendations.
• Analyze distribution system performance, including voltage regulation, peak loads, capacitor operations, and substation data.
• Support environmental reporting, regulatory submissions, and CCN applications.
• Develop electrical service plans for new developments, subdivisions, and industrial customers.
• Prepare equipment specifications and support high-voltage equipment procurement.
• Manage engineering projects, including schedules, budgets, proposals, deliverables, and quality control.
• Collaborate with utility clients, engineering teams, contractors, and field personnel.
• Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure compliance with applicable industry standards.

• Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems, load forecasting, protection coordination, and power system analysis.
• Experience managing engineering projects, schedules, budgets, and technical deliverables.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management applications.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting electric utilities or cooperatives.
• Familiarity with Rural Utilities Service (RUS) reporting and environmental requirements.
• Experience with CCN applications and high-voltage equipment specifications.
• Previous client-facing engineering and project management experience.
• $100,000–$140,000 annual base salary
