Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Lead Distribution Engineer on Oahu, Hawaii, to lead electrical utility design projects and ensure high-quality deliverables. Qualifications include a B.S. in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, 4+ years of experience, and proficiency with O-Calc, AutoCAD, and MicroStation.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of relevant experience required.
• ABET-accredited B.S. in Engineering preferred; other experience considered.
• OH framing/design, UG distribution, UG network projects, OH to UG conversions.
• NESC standards familiarity.
• O-Calc and line design, SAG10 analysis.
• AutoCAD and/or MicroStation for Electrical Distribution design.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Overnight travel 15-25% may be required.
• Ability to utilize personal vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Develop work packages for OH, UG, URD and related projects using GIS and Bentley tools.
• Review client-provided work and assess scope requirements.
• Balance field and office work; ensure compliance with design standards.
• Coordinate utilities and develop design packages for complex cable/conduit projects.
• Design mainline MV switchgear and ensure system protections.
• Perform root cause analyses of outages and mitigation.
• Travel as required with IRS rates; relocation may be offered.
