Job summary

Leidos in Oahu, HI, seeks an Associate Distribution Engineer to design and support electric utility projects from field inspections to office analysis. You will work with utility clients to deliver high-quality engineering solutions across 4 kV to 138 kV programs and supporting construction phases.

Requirements include a BS in an ABET-accredited engineering discipline, experience with NESC, ESRI, AutoCAD/MicroStation, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of NESC Standards and related design practices.
• Adept with ESRI, AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Willing to perform field and office work; 10–20% travel expected.

Responsibilities

• Develop design and construction work packages for overhead and underground distribution systems (4kV–138kV).
• Ensure compliance with Leidos and client safety, design, and quality expectations.
• Travel to sites for inspections, then return to perform engineering design work.
• Perform engineering calculations (structural analysis, guying, sag/tension, voltage drop).
• Develop AHJ permitting documents and provide construction-stage support.
