Job summary

Leidos seeks Distribution Engineers in Maui, HI and Oahu, HI who are passionate about electric utility design engineering. You will develop design and construction work packages for distribution systems 4kV–138kV and lead a team supporting critical projects for utility customers on Hawaii's islands.

You will review client requirements, coordinate with permit agencies and project teams, perform engineering calculations, and ensure conformance with safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial) from ABET-accredited school.
• 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with NESC Standards, AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, and Bluebeam and/or Adobe.
• Experience with ESRI and GIS is a plus.
• Experience with distribution design tools such as BOUD, Pole Foreman, Spida-Calc, O-Calc.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently develop design and construction work packages for moderately complex distribution systems 4kV–138kV.
• Lead project team and coordinate with internal stakeholders and clients.
• Review client-provided work and assess scope requirements.
• Provide engineering support during construction and post-construction reviews.
• Conduct root cause analysis of outages and mitigation.
