Vertiv is seeking a Manager, Application Engineering – Power Distribution to lead the team focused on Medium and Low Voltage Switchgear and Busway solutions. You will translate customer needs into technically compliant, manufacturable, and competitive designs while guiding proposals and cost estimates.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field required.
• Master’s degree in electrical engineering, Power Systems, Engineering Management, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in electrical power distribution, switchgear, switchboards, busway, or related equipment.
• Experience leading or supervising an engineering team.
• Strong knowledge of Medium Voltage and Low Voltage power distribution systems, including switchgear and busway applications.
• Experience with NEC, ANSI/IEEE, UL, NEMA, and IEC standards.
• Experience reviewing customer specifications, one-line diagrams, schematics, and electrical drawings.
• Experience developing technical proposals, equipment configurations, and cost estimates.
• Strong understanding of how electrical equipment design impacts manufacturing, material cost, labor, lead time, and commercial performance.
• Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities across cross-functional teams.

Responsabilidades

• Lead, develop, and manage the Application Engineering team supporting MV Switchgear, LV Switchgear/Switchboards, and Busway.
• Provide technical leadership for product selection, configuration, application, and development of customer-specific power distribution solutions.
• Translate customer specifications and drawings into practical, manufacturable designs.
• Lead technical proposal development, including equipment configuration, scope definition, technical exceptions, and risk identification.
• Ensure accurate and competitive cost estimates covering materials, labor, engineering, testing, and execution requirements.
• Support Sales with technical discussions, specification reviews, proposal development, and value-engineering alternatives.
• Ensure solutions comply with NEC, ANSI/IEEE, UL, NEMA, IEC, and other industry standards.
• Partner with Engineering and Manufacturing to validate capability, manufacturability, cost, capacity, and risks.
• Establish consistent application engineering processes, technical standards, estimating practices, and proposal review requirements.
