Job summary

CGS Federal (Contact Government Services) is seeking a PostgreSQL Database Developer to support a migration from Oracle to Azure PostgreSQL and to manage scalable database environments. The role emphasizes proactive monitoring, performance tuning, documentation, and collaboration within an Agile team.

Ideal candidates will have 7+ years of PostgreSQL administration on Linux, Oracle migration experience via Ora2Pg, and cloud experience (Azure/AWS). On-site in Tampa, FL with full benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 7+ years of PostgreSQL administration in Linux environments.
• Experience migrating Oracle to PostgreSQL (Ora2Pg).
• Experience setting up, monitoring and maintaining PostgreSQL instances.
• Experience with PostgreSQL backup and DR processes.
• Experience with cloud DBs such as Azure/AWS.

Responsibilities

• Migrate from Oracle to Microsoft Azure PostgreSQL and manage the new environment.
• Create and maintain technical documentation using templates.
• Collaborate with internal/external teams to translate objectives into technical requirements.
• Ensure database availability and performance with sufficient resources.
• Perform and assist with database performance tuning.
• Monitor databases for security, downtime, and maintenance (patches/upgrades).
• Work within an Agile development framework.
