Job summary

CGS Federal (Contact Government Services) seeks a PostgreSQL Database Developer to join a growing Data Analytics and BI platform. You will lead migration from Oracle to Postgres on Azure, and manage scalable database environments for federal customers.

The role emphasizes performance tuning, documentation, and collaboration within an Agile development framework, with a strong focus on reliability and security.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 7 years of PostgreSQL administration in Linux environments.
• Experience setting up, monitoring, and maintaining PostgreSQL instances.
• Experience with PostgreSQL backup and disaster recovery processes.
• Experience migrating Oracle schema to Postgres using Ora2Pg.

Responsibilities

• Migrate from Oracle to Microsoft Azure Postgres; ensure migration effectiveness.
• Create and maintain technical documentation with templates and business data knowledge.
• Collaborate with internal/external teams to define technical requirements.
• Ensure database availability, performance, and resource provisioning.
• Perform and assist in database performance tuning.
• Monitor databases for security, downtime reduction, and maintenance tasks.
• Support Agile development with structured processes.
