ExxonMobil Biomedical Sciences, Inc. (EMBSI) seeks a senior Postdoctoral Research Associate to lead an interdisciplinary program on water management, ecosystem resilience, and hydrologic processes.

The role emphasizes study design, QA/QC, data integration, and cross-disciplinary collaboration with industry and academia to advance our understanding of water-related systems. The position supports hypothesis-driven research, development of novel directions, and publication in peer-reviewed

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Hydrology, Hydrogeology, Ecohydrology, Environmental Science, Rangeland Ecology, or related field.
• Experience with study design, QA/QC, and data management.
• Experience with process-based hydrologic and/or hydrogeologic models (e.g., SWAT+, MODFLOW).
• Strong quantitative skills (R, Python, or equivalent).
• Expertise in GIS and spatial analysis (ArcGIS, QGIS, GEE).
• Track record of peer-reviewed publications.
• Strong written and verbal communication, coordination, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating within an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Study Design & Scientific Oversight: Hydrologic/hydrogeologic modeling, field monitoring, and ecological response metrics.
• QA/QC & Data Governance: QA/QC protocols, metadata standards, data validation workflows.
• Ecohydrological & Hydrogeological Modeling Integration: Calibration and validation of water models (SWAT+, MODFLOW).
• Field Monitoring Integration: Coordinate across teams for defensible monitoring approaches.
• Geospatial & Systems Integration: Integrate GIS, remote sensing, and model datasets.
• Synthesis, Reporting & Decision Support: Peer-reviewed publications and decision-support tools.
