Job summary

Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory's Earth and Environmental Science Area invites applications for a Postdoctoral Scholar in Integrated Hydrologic Modeling. You will join an interdisciplinary team within the Watershed Function SFA to develop 3D watershed models of a headwater system in the Upper Colorado River basin, studying disturbance, land cover, and hydroclimate effects on the water-energy budget.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in hydrology, civil, environmental engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with numerical hydrologic models and land surface models.
• Experience with Linux on cluster and HPC environments.
• Experience scripting with Python, Fortran, or C.

Responsibilities

• Develop integrated hydrologic models of mountainous watersheds and perform high fidelity simulations with ATS-EcoSIM.
• Collaborate with scientists across disciplines including groundwater-surface water interaction, geochemistry, and remote sensing.
• Generate and synthesize large datasets produced via high performance computing.
• Author peer-reviewed journal articles and technical reports.
