Job summary

VulcanForms is seeking a Senior Product Engineer, Post-Processing, to design and direct the manufacturing steps that move printed parts from the build plate to finished, inspected products. You will lead NPI efforts and continuous improvement, applying additive and subtractive processes, automation, and lean methods to optimize parts for aerospace and defense customers.

Qualifications

5+ years of progressive, hands‑on product or manufacturing experience.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Materials, Aerospace, Biomedical Eng or related field.
Proficiency in advanced 3D CAD software (NX/Creo/SolidWorks).
Experience using ERP systems in batch manufacturing.
Deep mastery of GD&T, SPC, tolerance stack‑up, and DFM/DFAM constraints.
Strong knowledge of subtractive and additive processes integration.

Responsibilities

Evaluate designs and provide DFAM feedback.
Optimize processing for customer requirements with the product team.
Own post‑print operations including depowdering, heat treatment, and subcontracted steps.
Work with QA to ensure proper inspection techniques in development and production.
Encode customer requirements into factory manufacturing steps in ERP.
Design and implement fixtures/work-holding for depowdering, EDM, heat treatment, finishing.
Write and maintain work instructions and quality documentation.
Dispositon non‑conforming material to keep parts moving.
Troubleshoot and solve problems across all process steps.
