Job summary

VulcanForms Inc. is seeking a Senior Product Engineer, Additive to lead the design and direction of manufacturing processes translating customer designs into repeatable production.

You will drive new product introduction and continuous improvement across energy, industrials and related sectors, using advanced manufacturing, automation, and lean methods to optimize parts. Responsibilities include DFAM feedback, cost and risk assessment, and coordinating with the product team to ensure processing

Qualifications

• 4+ years in product or applications development for LPBF or additive technology.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Materials, Aerospace, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
• Expert-level proficiency in 3D CAD software (NX/Creo/SolidWorks) and 3D printing build-prep tools (Magics, nTopology, Amphyon).
• Deep mastery of GD&T, advanced SPC, tolerance stack-up, and DFM/DfAM constraints.
• Experience using ERP systems in batch manufacturing.
• Strong working knowledge of subtractive manufacturing (5-axis milling/turning/EDM) and integration with additive workflows.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate customer designs and provide DFAM feedback.
• Support cost estimation, risk assessment, and timelines.
• Collaborate with product team to optimize processing for requirements.
• Own process development for print setup, materials properties, and layout optimization.
• Ensure proper inspection techniques meet customer needs in development and production.
• Develop design documentation to support manufacturing processes.
• Write and maintain work instructions and quality documentation.
• Troubleshoot and solve printing process issues.
