Job summary

Stanford University Medical Center’s Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery is seeking an experienced Research Administrator 3 to manage a large, diverse post-award portfolio and support faculty, researchers, and department leaders.

The RA3 will oversee expenditures, prepare reports, handle sub-awards and audits, and mentor junior staff while driving process improvements in a hybrid on-site/telework setup two days/three days per week.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve expenditures and oversee post-award spending.
• Develop and communicate project reports, forecasting models, and decision aids.
• Manage contract and grant reporting, closeout, and audits.
• Interpret policies (FAR, Cost Accounting Standards, etc.) for staff and investigators.
• Lead process improvements and mentor junior staff.
• Coordinate with the Office of Sponsored Research and other departments.
• Assist in proposal preparation and funding compliance.
