Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer for the Pose team to tackle localization and calibration challenges in its autonomous stack. You will develop real-time algorithms on the vehicle and in the cloud, fusing data from GNSS, IMU, and odometry to deliver accurate vehicle pose.

Qualifications

• MS/PhD in a relevant engineering or CS field.
• 5+ years in robotics, AV, or real-time safety-critical work.
• Experience with stochastic estimation, SLAM, sensor fusion, and calibration.
• Strong C/C++ programming skills and ability to work fast.

Responsibilities

• Develop localization and pose estimation algorithms for vehicle and cloud.
• Process and fuse GNSS, IMU, wheel/radar/visual odometry data for precise localization.
• Implement algorithms in C++ and analyze performance with Python.
• Integrate algorithms into autonomous vehicle architecture and embedded Real-Time systems.
• Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams on safety-critical localization.
