Job summary

BJ's Wholesale Club in Marlborough, MA is hiring a Senior Point Of Sale Engineer. This hybrid role focuses on analytical, development, and configuration support for Toshiba 4690 OS, ACE POS, and CHEC applications to move retail technology forward.

You will lead requirements gathering, design, and implementation, configure applications per standards, optimize performance, document processes, and coordinate small to mid-sized projects. On-call rotation is also required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years IT experience in a Retail environment.
• Experience with POS technology (Registers, Self Checkout, and peripherals).
• Strong testing and design expertise with experience in an Agile model.
• Experience creating Technical Design documents, Technical specs, production supporting docs, implementation plans, test plans and test cases.
• Open systems experience preferred.
• Design experience with Toshiba 4690OS and ACE POS/CHEC applications preferred.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Leading system requirements gathering, design, coding and related technical tasks including creating design documents for relational databases and transactions using a standard lifecycle methodology.
• Configuring applications according to department standards and performing unit and systems tests.
• Analyzing and tuning application and system performance.
• Preparing process and other documentation as required.
• Functioning as a Project Coordinator on small to mid-sized projects.
• On-call rotation.
