Job summary

enableIT seeks an experienced Senior POS Architect to lead discovery, target-state architecture, and integration design for a major POS modernization program in fashion retail.

The role defines future POS architecture, integrates POS with ERP/CRM/OMS, and produces detailed solution designs for implementation. Remote/hybrid US-based with periodic travel to New York City for client workshops.

Qualifications

• 10+ years IT experience with POS architecture or retail store technology.
• Led at least one end-to-end enterprise POS implementation or modernization.
• Experience in discovery, requirements elicitation, target-state architecture, and detailed solution design.
• Strong experience with one or more POS platforms listed (see tools).

Responsibilities

• Lead discovery workshops and assess existing POS, store systems, integrations, payments, and infrastructure.
• Define end-to-end POS architecture covering POS, mobile POS, OMS, inventory, loyalty, promotions, clienteling, and omnichannel capabilities.
• Design integrations between POS and ERP, PIM, CRM, OMS, WMS, loyalty, pricing, promotions, tax, and e-commerce.
• Architect master data distribution, canonical data models, event-driven integrations, APIs, webhooks, and data transformation.
• Define reliable integration patterns for retries, idempotency, error handling, replay, and recovery.
• Design payment integrations covering payment gateways, terminals, EMV, tokenization, and PCI-DSS compliance.
• Establish architecture standards, security, observability, monitoring, performance, offline resilience, and operational support models.
• Lead architecture reviews, vendor discussions, stakeholder workshops, and phased implementation and rollout planning.
