Job summary

KeyBank is seeking a VP, Portfolio Management in Cleveland to underwrite and analyze complex corporate credit requests and monitor client portfolios. This role emphasizes leadership in credit underwriting, market knowledge, and cross-functional collaboration with partners and bankers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in finance, accounting, economics and/or business (required))
• Master's Degree MBA (preferred)
• Minimum 5 years of commercial underwriting, credit, banking and/or financial services experience (required). Commercial and Industrial underwriting strongly preferred.
• Competent with Microsoft Office and ability to learn and effectively utilize other technology applications (required)
• Demonstrated competence in financial analysis and modeling (required)
• Experience structuring meaningful and appropriate financial covenants for syndicated debt facilities (required)
• Developing experience managing the left lead /administrative agent role in syndicated deals (required)
• Ability to lead discussions with clients during negotiations and act as primary lending representative on deal execution (required)
• Knowledge of business and legal elements of credit agreements and ability to work with counsel (required)
• Solid understanding of banking and investment banking products and current market dynamics (required)
• Effective and polished presentation and communication skills (required)
• Ability to plan, multi-task, manage time effectively, and lead work independently (required)

Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze financial data for high-value clients or prospects, including spreading financial statements.
• Model future financial performance of clients and prospects, including downside scenarios.
• Lead structuring discussions with partners and clients, acting as a value-add advisor.
• Perform enhanced leveraged cash flow due diligence when appropriate.
• Prepare credit underwriting documents identifying risks and mitigants.
• Ensure compliance with KYC, Patriot Act/OFAC checks and Beneficial Ownership.
