Job summary

COPT Defense Properties, LP is seeking a Finance professional to oversee the integrity of financial information for a multi-property portfolio under GAAP and SOX guidelines. Responsibilities include reviewing NOI, budgeting, variances, and AR issues while interfacing with property and asset managers to resolve financial items.

Leadership of at least one project accountant is expected. Experience with property accounting (5–7 years) and familiarity with Yardi is preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong internal controls and SOX compliance experience.
• Experience budgeting, forecasting, and pro forma analysis.
• Ability to lead and train staff, and communicate with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Maintain historical books for a portfolio of properties and ensure GAAP compliance.
• Monitor NOI, leasing activity, and AR; prepare audit work papers as needed.
• Develop budgets and rolling forecasts; analyze variances and support management decisions.
• Manage balance sheet reconciliations and provide guidance to property managers.
