Job summary

Octagon Credit Investors in New York seeks a Senior Portfolio Administrator to support Collateral Administration and Accounting. You will reconcile cash and investments, process loan actions, and maintain accurate records. The role requires 4+ years in CLOs or related credit operations and strong attention to detail.

You’ll partner with custodians and internal teams, drive process improvements, and help manage risk while contributing to Octagon’s operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of relevant experience in CLOs, syndicated loans, loan products, or bonds working as an operational credit administrator at an investment adviser, administrator, or related professional services firm
• Solid ability to interpret credit agreements, amendments, and related documentation.
• Knowledge of private credit is preferred but not mandatory
• Excellent organizational skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong analytical skills, and exemplary attention to detail
• Ability to multi‑task, be proactive, work independently, and work effectively under pressure (often under deadlines and changing priorities)
• Comfortable interacting and building relationships with all teams across the firm and affiliated organizations
• Mentor and train junior staff by helping develop their technical skills and grow in their careers

Responsibilities

• Reconcile cash, investment holdings, accrued interest forecasts, asset details and par amounts between Octagon, custodian and administrator records
• Process bank loan corporate actions, restructures, amendments and any other facility changes
• Ensure all interest and principal activity is accurately and timely processed and reflected in the system
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies with custodians, administrators, agent banks and / brokers
• Identify and execute opportunities to improve team efficiency, mitigate risk, and enhance the client experience
• Support the development of technology-based solutions designed to improve internal recordkeeping, monitoring, and reporting capabilities
• Proactively take on ad hoc projects and provide support for new business initiatives, as needed
