Job summary

A&C Ventures, a private real estate investment firm based in California, seeks a Senior Portfolio Accountant reporting to the Controller to manage day-to-day accounting for a real estate portfolio and handle quarterly and annual reporting.

Responsibilities include GL management, month-end close, cash management, tax coordination, AP/AR processing, lender reporting, investor distributions, and CAM reconciliations, with strong GAAP knowledge and Excel/Yardi proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 8+ years of accounting experience; real estate preferred.
• Proficiency with Yardi Voyager and advanced Excel.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage general ledger, postings, journal entries and reconciliations.
• Complete month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Handle cash management and accounts across bank accounts.
• Coordinate annual tax prep with outside CPA; provide supporting docs.
• Process portfolio AP/AR, transfers, wires and ACH payments.
• Prepare quarterly and annual lender compliance reporting.
• Distribute cash to investors quarterly.
• Maintain investment software for timely updates.
• Coordinate with investors and company representatives.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and regulatory adherence.
• Prepare CAM reconciliations.
• Support ad hoc requests from Controller, CFO, and investment team.

Job description

A private real estate investment firm based in Sonoma, California is seeking a Senior Portfolio Accountant to join their team. Reporting directly to the Controller, this individual will be responsible for a real estate portfolio, including all day-to-day accounting, as well as quarterly and annual reporting.

Responsibilities

• Manage the general ledger, including posting transactions, journal entries and performing regular balance sheet reconciliations
• Complete all month-end and year-end closing processes
• Cash management and analysis for all bank accounts
• Annual tax preparation to outside CPA firm, including applicable documentation, answering questions timely, and reviewing and posting tax AJE’s
• Process all portfolio accounts receivable and accounts payable, including account transfers, wire transfers and ACH payments
• Quarterly and annual lender compliance reporting
• Process quarterly distributions to investors
• Maintain investment software to ensure all updates are entered correctly and timely
• Both inside and outside involvement with investors and company representatives
• Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other relevant regulations
• Prepare CAM Reconciliations
• Adhoc requests as requested by Controller, CFO, and investment team.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum of 8 years of accounting experience, real estate industry preferred
• Proficiency with Yardi Voyager and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Consolidations and rollup experience a plus
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting principles.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Strong communication, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
