Job summary

AECOM seeks a Senior Port/Rail Engineer – Project Manager to lead multi-disciplinary ports, terminals and freight rail projects in the Southeast region. Based in Raleigh, NC, Wilmington, NC, or North Charleston, SC, the role combines technical leadership with client engagement and business development across the region.

The ideal candidate has a PE license, 8+ years of relevant experience, and a track record delivering complex infrastructure.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Engineering and 8+ years of relevant experience or equivalent.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Experience with Port/Marine and freight rail projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Project Manager and Technical Lead on complex Port and Rail projects.
• Oversee planning, design, and delivery of port cargo terminals and intermodal facilities.
• Coordinate with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Provide QA and ensure compliance with codes and client requirements.
• Support scopes, budgets, schedules, and resource planning.
• Mentor engineering staff and represent AECOM at events.
