Job summary

AECOM seeks a Senior Port/Rail Engineer – Project Manager based in Raleigh, NC, Wilmington, NC or North Charleston, SC. You will lead multi-disciplinary port, rail, and goods-movement projects, mentoring teams and driving regional growth in the Goods Movement/Port and Marine practice.

The role requires 8+ years of experience, a PE license, and strong leadership as you oversee design, delivery, and client engagement across the Southeast region.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Engineering discipline and 8 years of relevant experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng.) license required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Project Manager and Technical Lead on complex, multi-disciplinary Port and Rail projects.
• Oversee the planning, design, and delivery of Port and Rail infrastructure including port cargo terminals, intermodal terminals, marine structures, freight rail, and related facilities.
• Coordinate and collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
• Provide quality assurance and ensure compliance with applicable standards, codes, and client requirements.
• Support the development of project scopes and estimates, engineering budgets, schedules, and resource plans.
