Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Port/Rail Engineer – Project Manager to lead multi-disciplinary port and rail projects in the Southeast region from Raleigh, NC, Wilmington, NC, or North Charleston, SC. This role combines technical leadership with program management and business development responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will have a PE license, 8+ years of relevant experience, and a track record in port/marine infrastructure, freight rail, and multidiscipline teams.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Engineering discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng.) license required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Project Manager and Technical Lead on complex, multi-disciplinary Port and Rail projects.
• Oversee planning, design, and delivery of Port and Rail infrastructure including terminals and freight rail.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Provide QA and ensure compliance with standards and client requirements.
• Support development of project scopes, budgets, schedules, and resource plans.
• Foster a collaborative team culture and mentor engineering staff.
• Represent AECOM at industry events and client meetings as a subject matter expert.
• Assist in business development, client engagement, and pursuit strategies.
• Participate in market research and capture planning to identify opportunities.
