Job summary

Exponent is seeking an experienced Senior Managing Scientist to lead interdisciplinary polymer science projects across multiple industries. You will guide specification, development, testing, and end-use performance of polymeric materials for life sciences, consumer products, infrastructure, and automotive components.

The role requires 5–10 years of consulting experience, a PhD in Polymer or Materials Science, and a proven ability to generate new business, mentor staff, and deliver high-impact

Qualifications

• PhD in Polymer Science or Materials Science required.
• 5–10 years of consulting experience in polymer or materials science.
• Proven ability to generate business and attract clients or funding.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication across diverse audiences.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with data interpretation.
• Outstanding reputation for integrity, responsiveness and technical expertise.

Responsibilities

• Lead interdisciplinary teams to solve polymer-related challenges across industries.
