Job summary

E Ink Corporation is seeking a highly motivated Senior Polymer/Materials Scientist to conduct leading-edge materials research for next-generation electrophoretic display technologies. The role focuses on design, formulation, fabrication, and characterization of functional polymer films, adhesives, and coatings for the FPL platforms.

Qualifications

• PhD with 5+ years in polymer formulation, adhesives, coatings, or functional films.
• Strong background in polymer formulation chemistry and coatings.
• Experience with pressure-sensitive or functional adhesives.
• Knowledge of acrylic, polyurethane, epoxy, silicone, polyester, or related systems.
• Understanding of various curing mechanisms (UV, thermal, moisture, chemical).
• Experience with analytical techniques and environmental aging.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, formulation, and optimization of polymer-based adhesives and coatings for FPL platforms.
• Select and evaluate polymers, resins, solvents, and additives.
• Develop formulations with targeted electrical, optical, mechanical, and durability properties.
• Design experiments and analyze data to improve efficiency and reliability.
• Characterize formulations and coated materials for adhesion, barrier, and aging behavior.
• Ensure manufacturability, safety, and sustainability requirements are met.
• Monitor industry trends and contribute to IP through disclosures and patents.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate concept to prototype to commercialization.
