Job summary

Uponor in Apple Valley, MN, seeks a Senior Research Scientist to lead polymer pipe development. Plan and conduct research both independently and with cross-functional teams. You will identify valuable technologies and clearly communicate advantages and drawbacks to peers and upper management.

Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in Polymer Science/Engineering or related field with 7–10+ years of experience, with hands-on rheological characterization of polymers; extrusion knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Polymer Science/Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Chemistry with 7–10+ years of related experience.
• Experience with rheological characterization of polymer melts and networks is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of extrusion technology/manufacturing and/or pipe development is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan, conduct research and development work independently and in cross-functional teams.
• Manage projects with leadership skills and collaboration with US and Europe teams.
• Identify technologies of value and communicate pros/cons to peers and upper management.
• Prepare reports and communicate results clearly and timely.
