This role emphasizes executive presence, regional expertise, and a broad network, with travel ~30% and a focus on transforming AFP’s recruitment and policy impact.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience — substantial, senior-level experience leading political recruitment and/or political campaign work at the federal level.
• Executive presence to engage policy-aligned candidates, leaders, and officials.

Responsibilities

• Recruit top-tier candidates. Identify and recruit exceptional candidates for federal and state office.
• Shape regional political strategy with state staff and community leaders.
• Advise senior state leadership on recruitment strategies.
• Build high-level relationships with prospective candidates and influencers.
• Champion AFP's mission and vision for policy change.
• Lead AFP's Candidate School to shape future political leaders.
