Job summary

Nava is a consultancy and public benefit corporation helping government agencies modernize. We’re seeking a Policy Strategist to translate Medicaid policy into actionable guidance and system requirements.

You’ll work with product, design, and engineering, conduct research, and develop briefs, workflows, and tests. Remote options available for qualified candidates; U.S. work authorization required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in policy analysis or equivalent graduate experience.
• Research and interpret policy using statutes, regulations, or agency guidance.
• Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision.
• Excellent verbal and written communication in policy contexts.
• Document research processes, findings, and recommendations clearly.
• Experience with Medicaid eligibility policy and enrollment processes.
• Experience with agile delivery and human-centered design processes.

Responsibilities

• Interpret policy findings to improve program processes, operations, or technology.
• Identify policy questions, define approach, and progress when unclear.
• Policy translation and implementation across systems.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to translate policy into system behavior, workflows, and user experiences.
• Identify regulatory constraints, risks, and edge cases; propose compliant solutions.
• Develop policy briefs and decision frameworks to support prioritization.
• Support testing and validation of policy implementation.
