Job summary

Nava Public Benefit Corp. is seeking a Policy Strategist to analyze Medicaid policy and translate findings into practical, compliant recommendations. You will research federal and state requirements, define priorities with the team, and shape policy-informed decisions across product, design, and engineering.

You will stay current on policy trends, support implementation testing, and build external partnerships to share Nava’s expertise. Remote options available for eligible states.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of policy analysis or related graduate education and experience
• Experience researching and interpreting policy using statutes, regulations, or agency guidance
• Ability to document research processes, findings and recommendations clearly
• Experience with Medicaid eligibility and enrollment policy and related notices or appeals
• Experience in agile delivery and human-centered design processes
• Legal authorization to work in the United States and no visa sponsorship required

Responsibilities

• Interpret policy findings to improve program processes, operations, or technology
• Identify policy questions, propose approaches, and progress when definitions are unclear
• Translate policy into system behavior, workflows, and user experiences
• Identify regulatory constraints, risks, and ambiguities and propose compliant solutions
• Develop policy briefs and decision frameworks to support prioritization
• Support testing and validation of policy implementation (scenarios and edge cases)
• Conduct landscape and cross‑jurisdictional research on evolving policies
• Build relationships with external partners to share Nava’s policy expertise
• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering to align policy with implementation
